June 13 to 19 is National Public Service Week, an event to acknowledge the contribution of federal public service employees.
This year PSAC and the National Board of Directors are asking members to boycott their National Public Service Week events. Instead of participating in these events, the PSAC encourages members to focus on what really matters: building on the significant gains we made in the last round of bargaining and celebrating the value of our work.
This year’s National Public Service Week happens to overlap with the very first bargaining sessions for this round of Treasury Board bargaining. We have a unique opportunity to acknowledge the incredible contributions of public service workers and to invite our members to show their support for their bargaining teams.
Throughout National Public Service Week, PSAC will express their appreciation to members by running a series of digital, video and radio ads thanking federal public service workers for their hard work and commitment. PSAC will also provide members with social media profile frames and video conference backgrounds so they can publicly show their support for their bargaining teams on social media and during meetings.
We recognize the sacrifices made by our members, we celebrate their dedication, and we are determined to get them the working conditions that reflect the level of commitment they showed Canadians during their time of need.
