Statement from the National President of the GSU on the tentative agreements for members of the TC and PA groups

Jul. 22, 2020

Statement from Randy Howard, National President of the Government Services Union:

I am pleased that the Public Service Alliance of Canada has reached a tentative agreement for members of the TC and PA groups, and a settlement which includes compensation for damages related to the Phoenix Pay System.

Both the TC and PA groups have been working without a contract since June of 2018. This agreement will go a long way to providing workers with a sense of stability in their jobs and the knowledge that they will be fairly compensated for their work.

Additionally, I am pleased that there is finally recognition and compensation for the suffering caused by the management’s decision-making in the implementation of the Phoenix Pay System.

I look forward to hearing the opinions of the members of the GSU in the weeks to come on this agreement.
