Results of the 2025 Canadian Federal Election

Apr. 29, 2025

Today, Canadians exercised their democratic right to vote and have elected a new government. On behalf of the Government Services Union (GSU) and our members across the country, I want to thank all those who participated in this critical election.

While the Liberal Party will continue to lead the government, it is still too early to assess how this new leadership will impact GSU members, who work each day to deliver essential services to Canadians.

Regardless of the political landscape, GSU’s priorities remain steadfast: defending our members' rights, protecting the integrity of public services, advocating for fair and safe workplaces, and ensuring that the voices of federal workers are heard at every table where decisions are made.

We are committed to engaging with the new government and holding them accountable to their responsibility to support and respect the federal public service. Where there are opportunities for collaboration, we will seize them. Where there are threats to our members' rights and working conditions, we will oppose them vigorously.

The election may be over, but our fight for fairness, respect, and justice for federal workers continues.

In solidarity,

Bruce Roy
National President
Government Services Union
