Nov. 14, 2025
On November 5 and 6, 28 GSU Young Workers gathered in Ottawa for our third Young Workers Conference, and it was truly an incredible event! For the first time, participants came from every region, bringing energy, fresh ideas, and passion for the labour movement. It was inspiring to see this group connect so quickly. For many, it was their first experience with GSU, and we’re confident it won’t be their last! If the 2025 Young Workers Conference is any indicator, the future of our union looks promising.
With the conclusion of the Young Workers Conference, we officially close our 2024–2025 cycle of events. This has been our busiest year yet. Beyond National Council, Standing Committees, and Ad Hoc Training meetings, GSU members and elected officers participated in 11 conferences across the country — one every two months for the past two years! From Regional Conferences to the Local Presidents Conference, and from the Health, Safety & Environment and Human Rights Summits to the Young Workers Conference, our National Office has been working diligently, crafting meaningful agendas, providing top-quality training, and ensuring every detail runs smoothly.
As we look ahead to 2026, the momentum continues to grow. In the coming months, we will share key updates about the GSU 10th Convention. This milestone event celebrates years of progress, passion, and purpose, and 2026 is already shaping up to be a truly amazing year.
